India lives with her ex- rock star father and bohemian mother, in a home in Norfolk where she feels marooned and lonely. Her parents scare off any potential lovers until one day she meets a supporter of Ukip (a United Kingdom right wing political party). This is a rewriting of Nancy Mitford’s novel The Pursuit of Happiness. It is a cosy read that will have you laughing out loud over the lives of these mostly likeable characters.

Twins Cassie and Andie have been raised by Joy Moody in a house behind the Melbourne laundromat she runs. All their lives they have been told that they are special and were really born in the future, in 2050. They have been hidden away, ostensibly to keep them safe. However, on the day of the twins’ 21st birthdays Joy is found dead, and the twins find themselves in a harsh new reality. This is a quirky and well written novel full of suspense.
