Twister by Jane Woodham by Kay Mercer

Fiction Review: Twister by Jane Woodham

A fine addition to the City of Literature collection.

Twister by Jane Woodham is a wonderful read, particularly appealing during lock down as Jane's novel is set in Dunedin, and it was particularly comforting to be reminded of many of the wonderful places we take for granted when leading our normal lives.

Twister has more than one mystery to be solved, and one is the disappearance of Detective Leo Judd's daughter many years ago. This tragedy continues to have a profound effect on the Judd household and I enjoyed this exploration of how grief and loss can change people and affect the choices people make.

A great cast of characters are introduced and they are extremely relatable. Jane is clearly a master of observation and this adds to the charm of the story. I was unable to put Twister down and the ending was wonderful! I cannot recommend this book highly enough, a thoroughly great read.
