A celebration of living Ngāi Tahutanga: free film screenings for the festival of Puaka Matariki
Throughout July, Dunedin City Library will have the honour of screening the Ngāi Tahu Mahinga Kai and Ngā Ringa Toi o Tahu series of short films, celebrating what it is to be Ngāi Tahu in an exploration of the creative artistry and traditional practices of the iwi.
Brought to you by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Repeat screenings daily.

Geode Worlds Felting Workshops
Presented by artist Alicia Hall, this workshop will introduce you to the wonderful world of felting, and the opportunity to make beautifully-coloured tiny worlds. A family-friendly workshop suitable for children from 5 upwards, accompanied by an adult.

Stack Trek
Boldly go where few borrowers have been before…
For one hour only on the last Saturday of each month, we open up our secret stash of books in the library basement. Trekkies meet at the ground floor helpdesk for a guided trip to the far reaches of the Library and the opportunity to browse the Fiction collections. Find an old favourite, or discover a completely new author!

National Poetry Day: A Question of Poets
In partnership with the Otago-Southland NZ Society of Authors, Dunedin Public Libraries invites you to celebrate National Poetry Day at our annual gala event.
Seven seasoned poets, some youthful vigour and a clutch of fresh-faced beginners mark the ingredients for a poetry-filled evening, with a selection of readings and a hearty discussion of what it means to be a poet.
Drinks and buffet supper served during the interval. PRIOR BOOKING ESSENTIAL FOR CATERING PURPOSES.
