Visions for Dunedin

Tuesday 21st August, 6pm

In partnership with Southern Heritage Trust, Dunedin Public Libraries is pleased to host a series of inspirational talks exploring visions of Dunedin’s past and present and, perhaps more importantly, our visions for its future.

AUGUST 21

Titiro ki te ao ki mua
A literal translation is: Look forward to the future. This is drawn from a whakataukī that urges people to not live in the past but be forward looking; the full whakataukī concludes with the balancing thought that to know where we are going we need to see where we have come from. Suzanne Ellison will be drawing from a Kāi Tahu perspective of pre-colonial life through to the post-Kāi Tahu settlement future to explore āku moemoea ā Ōtepoti / Dunedin, my dreams for Dunedin.

Speaker: Suzanne Ellison, Runaka Manager, Kāti Huirapa Runaka ki Puketeraki
Venue: Dunedin Public Library, 4th floor
Time: 6pm
