Creeping into Science Fiction
I thought I might as well carry on from the last issue of NB and share my latest find in Science Fiction, and yes it’s another female author.
I was searching through Fantastic Fiction and came across Holly Jennings, her series Arena looked really interesting but we didn’t have her available in the library. Filling in a Suggest An Item Card is a great thing to do, as it appeared in Borrow Box.
The series: Arena
This was again something very different for me, stepping into the world of virtual reality gaming, but not as you know it. Within these books the players are in pods but they themselves are within the whole game, they fight as teams, eliminating each other out. They do die but are sucked out back to their pods. The teams are fighting for sponsors, money and prestige. So If you want to try something a little bit different, try these two books. I really enjoyed them and couldn’t stop reading them.
