Quotes

“I have never seen a collection of fashion magazines like the one we are lucky to have at the Dunedin Public Library. The magazines are interesting for those of us engaged in fashion designing as well as anyone interested in the cultural and social histories that they track. I love coming into the library and asking for something quite specific, for example every September issue of USA Vogue so that I can track a trend over several decades. The amazing library staff are kind enough to gather up these issues, pop them on a trolley and bring to me to delve into. I cannot imagine that happening anywhere else in the world, thank you Dunedin Public Library for keeping these collections - awesome collection and awesome staff.”

Margo Barton, Principal Lecturer in Fashion Otago Polytechnic

“I love the library. The books are free and I do not have any money. Marvelous things are possible within its walls; new worlds entire can be found on its shelves. And if you, like me, are interested in walking the streets of the city unimpeded by the sniggers of young persons, there is also fashion advice galore. Thank goodness.”
