Gordon Leonard Clarke left New Zealand as a young fashion designer in the 60s and has spent his life surrounded by beautiful things. Now he has returned, with a determination to show the world that ‘Kiwi’ is chic. Join us on a tour of Gordon’s world, from London to Venice, Los Angeles to Florence, as he discusses why New Zealand wool is second to none, and the importance of window dressing!

Bags for Good is a community-led project to provide good quality reusable bags to make reducing plastic use easier for everyone, as well as reducing textile waste. Join us for a community sewing bee to make bags for Bags for Good in our community, ready for the trial of our bag library at the South Dunedin Community Pop-up for all your book-borrowing enjoyment.

Dog Week: Dog Heroes & Doggy First Aid
Celebrate the Year of the Dog. Meet the heroes of LandSAR – the human/dog partnership that makes a real difference to our community. Followed by a class on how to look after your four-legged friend, taking you through the basics of canine first aid. With LandSAR volunteer Dermot Maycock, Audrey Campbell from the Otago Polytechnic School of Veterinary Nursing, and CPR dog and ‘retired’ LandSAR hero, Finber.

The Playgroup Presents: The Radio Play
Experience the thrill of the live radio play – sound effects and all!
In this first of a series, join us for a live reading of Hostage, an original radio play which will air later in June on Otago Access Radio. Based on the true story of notorious NZ hostage-taker Antonie Dixon, Hostage is a series of short monologues performed by Suitcase Theatre. As each character connected with the drama gives their take on events, the truth gradually emerges, and the story comes to a shocking conclusion.
