Prayer from a Leaky Boat
Take me with you Water,
my boat is old & leaking,
my oars are stolen,
I never had a compass,
Perhaps I am adrift.
Talk to me Water
ripple across the drums of my ears,
sing oceans of songs to me Water,
beguile & entice me Water
with stories of whale caress.
Take this body of water & turn its tide.
I want to journey in sync,
only moon anchored.
I want to have a skin so wet
that it can break open to tern’s joy,
a skin so wet
it can become air born, cloud born
and fall landwards,
to seed birth.
Take me with you Water
