Centre for the Book Symposium: Books & Users
Join the University of Otago Centre for the Book for a day of scholarly presentations and discussions.
This year's symposium, on the theme of 'Books and Users',
will explore the many ways we interact with print, as well as probing the
meaning of user: someone seeking practical information, someone referring to a
single aspect rather than reading a whole book, or someone who is dependent on
books in positive or negative ways. As books and print become increasingly
available in multiple formats and media, do our uses change and do we expect
different things from books? Bring your own experiences and reflections
and discover the diversity of uses humans have found for the ubiquitous object
we call the book.
