Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa Warm greetings to you all
It has been a wonderfully positive first half of Term 2 with many memorable examples of our students making us proud.
The senior School Formal was a pleasure to attend and a huge thank you needs to go out to all involved in making this event such a success. I am always astounded with the array of talent on show at our school productions and this year’s ‘Sound of Music’ has been no exception. I hope all associated with the show are very proud of this production, well done to you all!
Winter sports season is well and truly here and, without exception, our teams are participating with distinction and the ‘never give up attitude’ that prevails within this community. While results haven’t always gone our way it has not been for lack of effort.
Senior assessment week is looming and this provides an ideal opportunity to signpost how our students are progressing and what gaps need to be addressed. While students will experience a range of assessment conditions – from carrying on with internal assessment work through to more formal exams, it is important that these opportunities are not wasted.
Finally with the Big Sing competition, an ERO visit, senior assessment week, our sports exchange with Central Southland College and Choral Fest among other things, I am sure that there will be many more opportunities for our students to shine, both in and out of the classroom, which is just how we like it!
