The ILT Southland Secondary Schools’ Jazz Fest was held Friday, 19 October, at Ascot Park Hotel, Invercargill.

Congratulations to Jazzstanza, Dunstan’s senior jazz band, who won two awards - Best Test Piece and Best Compere.

Alastair Monteath, the school’s itinerant music teacher, commented on how the judges really liked Dunstan’s version of Lady Bird, a compulsory piece every band had to perform, “It was a very difficult piece to play, but the band played it really well and looked confident on stage”. Also congratulations to Beau Meehan for winning Best Compere for the evening. This was an individual award and well deserved.
