Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa. Warm greetings to you all.

This is a special time of year with a number of evening events being held to acknowledge the wonderful achievements of our students. The Sports Awards showcased the tremendous year 2018 has been, across many disciplines. More importantly, this evening highlighted the immense commitment and dedication displayed, not only by the students, but also by the coaches, parents and supporters. Well done to you all.

The Year 13 Graduation Dinner held last week was another wonderful event. To hear about these Year 13 students’ future aspirations and witness the tremendous young men and women they have become, is something this whole community should be proud of. A true test of how successful a school is, should not solely be based on the success of a few sports or drama events, or on academic achievement (things we do incredibly well in), but on the character the students show and their growth as people, as well as students. From what I see of our students on a daily basis, the vast majority are well on their way to being terrific adults, and this aspect of our education should never be overlooked.
