16 students from each of the four houses competed against each other in the first ever House Wii Gaming Competition.

64 students total throughout East Otago High School competed against each other in the first ever House Wii Gaming competition during the last three school weeks. Each house chose their best 16 students to compete against the rest of the school in Wii Boxing.

Wii Boxing is a game on the Nintendo Wii. What makes this game unique is the virtual reality element, as students physically have to swing their arms to make their gaming character win a boxing match against their opponent. This competition was fun for all the people who took part. It also gave the younger students a level playing field, for example ... some games junior students beat senior students.

Congratulations to Year 7, Samuel Paton from School house for winning the competition. Congratulations also to fellow Year 7, Addisyn Lawrence from McKenzie house, who reached the grand final after some very strong competition.

The final results from the House Wii Gaming competition were ...

1st place - School house (Samuel Paton)

2nd place - McKenzie house (Addisyn Lawrence)

3rd place - Clark house (Tamati Sagar and Blake Cameron)

4th place - Muir house (Jed Tisdall)
