A Sneak Peek into the Lockdown Life of our Head Students

Luke Paton —

Luke:

I really enjoyed lockdown! Fortunately, the farm doesn’t stop when COVID hits, so we stayed pretty busy. The first few days it was good to rest and recalibrate after coming to terms with the cancellation of the Year 12&13 ski trip due to the abrupt COVID announcement. But my disappointment didn’t disrupt my productivity. During the time I had at home, I made a couple of loaves of bread (focaccia is the way to go), tried baking a few snacks and kept myself busy with some study and reading the Bible. Although I wasn’t exactly thrilled to be isolated from friends at school and youth group, lockdown taught me valuable lessons that sometimes we are so focused on our friends that we forget to love those who live with us… our families. Even though it can be difficult especially when they get on your nerves, I encourage you to reach out and love your family, show some gratitude and be patient

Lily:

At first, the lockdown was fun, no school, Naomi was staying over and I had extra hours for work = more $$$. But after the first week, the monotonous cycle began and soon all I wanted to do was stay in bed… and eat. Eventually, I found some things to occupy my short attention span, online shopping, binge-watching Netflix and counting down the days until lockdown would be over and then Aunty Cindy decided to extend it… again. Finally, I heard we were going back to school and I was relieved to get out of my house!

All in all, we are happy to be back and glad to see everyone’s smiling faces.
