Ski Camp 2020

Ella Sheat —

The Year 12 and 13 students attended the annual Ski Camp at Cardrona

On the 11th to 15th of August, some of the Year 12 and 13 travelled to Cardrona Alpine Resort to spend a week skiing and snowboarding. There were 15 students, one staff member and three parents. The Year 12's went snowboarding and the Year 13's went skiing. The first day the ski field was closed, meaning we couldn't go skiing as they were adjusting to the Level 2 restriction rules of COVID alert levels. So we went for a walk to Diamond Lake then to Puzzling World later that afternoon. We went skiing and snowboarding for the next three days after this. We stayed at the Top 10 Mount Aspiring Holiday Park for the week, we left the holiday park at 6:45am each morning so that we could get a close park and be ready for our lessons at 8:30am, with our instructors. We all passed our snowboarding and skiing assessments with good grades, and enjoyed the week a lot, even though the programme changed a little bit.

Thanks alot Mr H, Mrs Toomey, Mr McLeod and Mr Paton for coming with us and helping to organise the trip.
