The first annual House Haka wows both judges and audiences.

Kelvin Cummings —

The first ever East Otago High School House Haka Competition took place in the Gym on Friday 25th October.

East Otago High School is very proud of our school haka, and took this to a whole new level when they competed in the first ever House Haka competition.

All houses learned the extended version of the haka, and performed this in unique ways.  Any house could've taken it out.

The external judges (Waiariki Parata-Taiapa, Aroha Ellison, and Hayley Bungard) were all very impressed with the mana shown by all houses. They couldn't decide on their overall winner, having Clark and School houses face off together in one last "haka-off".

The final results had School in 1st place, Clark in 2nd place, with Muir and McKenzie tied in 3rd place.
