Science Highlights Term 4
Year 9 Science Enrichment & Extension Programme for Young Māori
● This year three of our Year 9 Science students have been selected for this programme. This is a five-day programme involving students from the wider Dunedin area and is hosted by the University of Otago’s NZ Marine Studies Centre.
● The programme incorporates aspects of Health Science, Marine Science and Sport and Exercise Science. Students work in teams and are mentored to develop their science investigation and communication skills in a Māori world context.
Brianne
Harris, Maia Perry and Deegan Croucher all applied for this programme, and were
accepted. They are currently half-way
through the programme and are thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to be
extended, as well as working with other like-minded students
