EOHS Library Newsletter February 2023

Welcome back to the term year. I hope that everyone had a great holiday and that there were some chances to read and relax.


Ashton Scholastic Book Orders 2023

Edition 1 Brochure is now available at school. Please give any orders to Rae at the library or to the School Office. You can also order through their loop system. Please see: scholastic.co.nz/LOOP

The last day for orders for Edition 1 is 10th Feb.


News from Ashton Scholastic

We’re celebrating our first Book Club News with a FREE BOOK GIVEAWAY!

Scholastic Book Club continues to evolve and move with the times with a new Bigger and Better Book Club in a more sustainable format so we can keep giving back to schools. We continue to offer families regular access to quality, affordable books while partnering with schools and giving back through the Scholastic Rewards program where every order gives 15% back to your school.


Student Librarians 2023

We have had fantastic student librarians and look forward to building the 2023 library team. Interested students can give their name to Rae at the library. There will be an application form this year for new, first-time applicants.


Borrowing books

Books are issued for 2 weeks and can be renewed for longer. Five books can be borrowed at a once. Reference books are used only in the library please.


Year 9 Readers Cup 2023

This is the first year that EOHS students will be participating. It is a reading competition designed just for Year 9 students. Details will be shared soon with Year 9 students in their English classes.


Year 9 EOHS Reading Challenge

This challenge will be launched at the next assembly.


Year 7-8 Reading Challenge

This challenge will be launched after the Year 7-8 Camp and Activity weeks.


Year 7-8 Reading Log Library Competition Term 1 2023

Information about this competition will be shared after the camp and activity weeks.
