EOHS students exploring inventions that changed the world

Kelvin Cummings —

During Term Two, our Year 7 and 8 students have been finding out all they can about inventions that have changed the world.

As part of our study, students have been learning about famous inventors, and the inventions they have created. Some of the inventions we focused on were the development of the printing press, innovations in medicine, steam engines, and the inventions that followed this development, which led to the industrial revolution.

In the process of this study, our students looked at how inventions create new opportunities and positive outcomes for people. We also identified that challenges occur with the introduction of new technology as well.

To finish our unit, our students are creating models of new innovations that they would like to see in our community in the future. During our final sessions, we will share our ideas with our classmates.
