Good start to the year for Materials Technology Department.

It is nice to see a good number of students choosing Materials Technology as their options for 2020.In the Junior classes, Students are busy working on designs and planning prior to entering the workshop to begin the practical aspect of their creations. Something for parent / caregivers to think about is that students are required to have a stakeholder to assist them in their work. Most students have chosen you as their stakeholder and will be asking you some questions about their designs. Please take some time to work with them in giving them some feedback.

The senior classes are also busy working on their Unit Standard booklets as well as designing cabinets and outdoor furniture. In the past we have had some top quality projects made that have demonstrated good design and construction.

As in our last week’s newsletter you would have seen a picture of a sandpit that our last year’s senior class had built. This is for sale. ($360) It has a cover over the top for shade and it does have a cover for the bottom if needed for a small amount extra.
