National Volunteer Week 20th-26th June 2021.

Roz Croucher —

National Volunteer Week celebrates our school and community members who give their time freely to help others.

The East Otago High School Sports Department is extremely lucky to have so many wonderful people who volunteer their time and expertise.  This year there are a large number of people who are helping out with our sports teams, from parents who drive the vans to community members and staff who coach our teams.

Noni Callander

Every year Noni spends hours at school encouraging and upskilling students in all athletics events.  This year she travelled to Dunedin and Christchurch to support our four students who competed in the South Island Secondary Schools Athletics.  We appreciate all that you do for our students Noni.

Peggy and Deon Bridger

Peggy and Deon are our coaches for the 1st XI Hockey team, they take early morning practices for the students and travel to Dunedin to all the games.  Peggy also is on the Board of Trustees at EOHS and both Peggy and Deon are Leaders at the Puketapu Scout Group. What a wonderful community support you are Peggy and Deon.

Linda Burns and Maxine Drabble

Linda is coaching our Year 9 netball team this year and her mother Maxine is our wonderful netball umpire.  You are both doing an amazing job and we are extremely thankful to you both for giving up your time at training, games on Saturdays and to attend the Otago SS Netball Tournament.

Linda Duncan

Linda is co-coach of the girls rugby team, she can always be counted on to help out with any sport at school be it athletics, swimming or sports exchanges.  Thank you Linda for all the help you have given us over the years.

Isabel Anderson

Isabel has been coaching our Year 7/8 Tigers Netball team for the last few years, she can always be relied on to turn up with a smile on her face.  Thank you Isabel for giving up your time to bring our young netballers through into the Intermediate Netball space.
