Year 9 - Glenorchy Camp

Kylie Scott —

Our Year 9 students travelled to Glenorchy to camp the week at the Glenorchy Educational Charitable Trust Lodge. On the way up we stopped at The Playground, near Arrowtown to take part in a confidence course and faced each other on an archery combat field. Students enjoyed hitting staff with their arrows. The students during the week enjoyed activities such as kayaking, tramping, raft building, shooting, shelter building, ABL activities, orienteering and jumping off the wharf. The following comments are from some of our students.

‘On camp we did some pretty fun things like Camp out, which I loved in the desert. Low ropes course and archery tag, which were pretty fun and competitive. Raft building and team activities were hard to corporate, 6 hour hike which was really long but fun, we walked 16k and it felt like forever, but was worth it. At the end of the trip in Cromwell we want to the Kiwi Water Park which was a big highlight, everybody getting blobbed was so funny, everyone loved it. Overall it was a pretty awesome camp’.
