This week, East Otago High School had the pleasure of welcoming a touring group of Chinese students and staff from Wenzhou New High-speed Rail District Experimental School.

This visit was particularly special, as it followed several international Zoom-based lessons that our students have enjoyed with their Chinese counterparts over the past couple of years.

The tour was expertly led by Sonny Brown, Sienna Hewitt, Indigo Ollerenshaw, and Mr. Cummings. Our visitors had the opportunity to explore various parts of our school, including the Science block, Library, Art room, Music Department, Gym, Tech areas, and Homeroom spaces. The tour concluded with a group photo at the front of the school, capturing a moment of cultural exchange and new friendships.

Our students demonstrated exceptional hospitality, ensuring that the visitors felt welcome and engaged throughout their visit. This experience has not only enriched our school community but also sparked an interest in potentially visiting China and exploring their educational institutions in the future.
