BMX NZ National Championships

Deegan McCormick attends 2021 BMX NZ National Championships in Rotorua.

Year 8 student, Deegan McCormick, has recently competed at the BMX NZ National Championships held in Rotorua on 13th & 14th March 2021. 

Over the two days of racing held at the Rotorua BMX Track, Deegan finished 4th out of 25 riders for the 12 Year old Boys age group. 

Deegan said being able to make heaps of friends and travelling were what made training and competing worthwhile.  He has travelled as far as Auckland and Tauranga to compete and even took his bike to Australia when they went on holiday to compete there.

Deegan belongs to the Dunedin BMX Club and during the season he trains 2-3 times a week in Dunedin which includes a club night.

January 2020 - 1st South Island 11 Year Boys

December 2020 - 5th North Island 11 Year Boys
