Thanks to the Otago Rural Support Trust, Lance Burdett will be speaking to our senior students on May the 14th here at EOHS.

We are sure our students will gain a lot from Lance's visit but also feel you, the community would be interested in hearing Lance speak. Hence, you are invited to come along to the DG Murray Hall on Tuesday the 14th of May. Lance will begin his session at 9am to 10am. Lance has asked us to reiterate that his presentation is directed at students, although I am sure you will all find it very interesting.

With over 20 years of policing experience, 13 of those as a crisis negotiator, Lance combines advanced communication techniques, safety awareness, and personal resilience support practices for everyday use to keep ourselves safe.

He brings together experience from training in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as operating with the elite sectors of the police, prisons, military and the FBI. Lance published the bestselling book – "Behind The Tape" – and makes regular media appearances commenting on police issues.

He holds a Diploma in Policing, a Diploma in Business Studies, and a Masters Degree majoring in Terrorism, Safety and Security.
