The Ministry of Education has provided support to allow both East Otago High School and Palmerston Primary School to appoint a Social Worker/Whanau Connector to work at both schools.

We live in the most challenging of times now facing the third year in a row of Covid 19 and, as we look forward to the year, we have no real idea as to what the year may bring. The role of Social Worker/Whanau Connector is designed to provide support for students and their whanau. This support can take many forms and indeed the position is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of our community as they arise.
