The Outdoor Education class were at the Dive Otago Centre to do the Scuba Diving Experience this week. They first completed a short orientation and safety briefing. They learnt a little about SCUBA diving and how it affects the body. Next up they headed downstairs to get fitted into wetsuits and scuba equipment. Once they had emerged from the changing room they jumped into the 3.5 metre deep heated diving pool. They started in the shallow end and were introduced slowly to the exhilarating experience of breathing underwater. They then went into the deep end to complete their first-ever water SCUBA dive.
