A huge congratulations- Hannah is the winner of the 9-12 year old SHORT STORY category! Your entry has won a $100 voucher to the Waitaki Business of your choice! Lockdown

Lockdown - a whole series of nothing. Somehow, I didn’t enjoy lockdown, even though it has been my dream since I started school.

However, I did manage to find something to distract me from the constant fear that the world was ending, and it was family and friends. The positive thought of my family and friends, brought me an idea…

My Nana’s expert scrapbooking and my mediocre phone camera could bring us some gorgeous sunset views. Every night at exactly 5:33 I would leave my house with my Jack Russell Terrier, Luna and go for a run up in the paddocks.

The transition from dull, grey skies to gorgeous pink was absolutely breathtaking, and my eyes always lit up with happiness, when I saw it.

The gorgeous, golden light brought me some very good selfies with the sunset and just great pictures of the sunset in general, I still haven’t given them to my Granny, but they’re soon to be in her scrapbook!
