Year 7 and 8 Art class

Miss Goodmans Year 7 and 8 class have been looking at the Pop artist Wayne Theibaud and his life still painting of cupcakes and food as their artist reference.

They have been exploring how to build up tonal effects and locate the light source when sketching from still life. The students have also created their own air dried clay cupcakes to work from directly and some of the cupcakes look good enough to eat! 

The students have also looked at colour theory and in particular complementary colours and hot and cold colours to help inform their colour selections.

The students used both soft pastel and pen on their final designs and below are some examples of their work.
