Bio Blitz Day at Karitane Rocky Shore

On the 27th of September there was a Bio Blitz Day at Karitane Rocky shore, where a group of us from East Otago High school supervised some younger students from Warrington and Karitane schools. We all had different groups and split off to go to either the Rocky shore or the Estuarine area. I was with a group on the Rocky shore where we surveyed the animals and plants in meter squared sections on the shore. Our group found a variety of seaweed and small crabs as well as a couple of Anemone roaming about. It was an awesome chance for our Year 9 class to get out and work with the younger schools as well as expanding our knowledge on classifying species.
