RYDA - Rotary Youth Driver Awareness

Keith Fluery —

On Thursday the 17th of February, all our Y12 students went to Oamaru to attend the RYDA programme for the whole day. RYDA stands for Rotary Youth Driver Awareness.

The programme was about being aware whilst driving and knowing what is the most appropriate action to take in given situations. This is an invaluable programme for our young drivers and drivers to be. Apart from gaining valuable experience and understanding through the day, our students were a pleasure to take away.

The following was a comment from the organisers.

"Your students were a credit to your school both in their behaviour and the manner in which they engaged with the presenters and our volunteers. We were impressed with their attentiveness, and trust that our potentially life-saving messages will stand them in good stead for the future."
