House competition update

Kelvin Cummings —

After two online House competitions, here is the update of the House standings.

This year has been a challenging one for East Otago High School students, staff, families, and the wider community. One thing that tries to remain constant is our annual House competition.

So far this year, we have been able to complete the House Dodgeball competition, and have begun House Basketball. Although we haven't completed Basketball yet, we will continue this once the alert levels permit us to, in a safe way to both students and staff.

Other events like House swimming, and House Cross-Country also have had to go on hold until later in the year. We look forward to having students show House pride at these events when the time is right.

Over the last 4 weeks, we have run an online competition for both "Battleship", and "Connect 4". Here are the new overall results after both of these events.

1st place - McKenzie (160 points)

2nd place - Clark (130 points)

3rd place - School (110 points)

4th place - Muir (100 points)

You'll see that the points are still very close, so the annual House shield is still very much up for grabs by any of the house groups.

Good luck to all the students this Friday for the popular upcoming House Kahoot General Knowledge Quiz.
