Thank you from the East Taieri Home and School Committee

Warmest wishes for a safe and happy holiday from the East Taieri Home and School Committee. We have had a very busy year! As President of this incredibly hard working committee, I would like to thank both the Committee, the Friends of the Committee and the wider school community for all your help and support of our very many activities throughout 2017. We have run a variety of events and activities throughout the year which have helped enhance our children’s learning experience at East Taieri School as well as also often providing much needed additional resources and opportunities. The Committee, along with your support, has raised approximately $40,000 this year alone and, as we began the year with a surplus, we have given back to the school a sum of over $42,500! This is a staggering amount from a committee of only 12 people! This could not, of course, have been done without your help and support along the way so please accept our heartfelt thanks for getting on board throughout the year.

Below is a summary of our income for 2017 as well as a breakdown of our expenditure throughout the year. We are looking forward to contributing $20,000 to the school build project in the senior block next year. The creation of breakout spaces in Rooms 1 & 2 will enhance the learning environment of our senior school students and will ensure that we remain at the forefront of providing innovative learning environments for our children. We will begin next year with a healthy surplus of funds and so we are also looking forward to receiving the staff and students’ wishlists at the start of the year.

I feel extremely privileged and proud to be one part of this amazing team. This group of parents (currently all mothers and so we are keen to welcome some dads into the mix!) largely work away quietly in the background and often do not receive recognition for the many hours that they plough into our committee all with the intention of enhancing our children’s environment and learning experience at East Taieri School. I would therefore like to give each one of them some well deserved recognition and show of appreciation for all that they do. Our Committee currently comprises:
