The time has come for me, to hang up my pencil, to turn the page and start a new chapter in my life. Also, to say thank you for all the support I have received over the years.

It has been a privilege to be part of the East Taieri school community. Not only as a parent but to be part of so many children’s learning journeys.

I love what I do and I am very passionate about children receiving the best education possible.

For me, it is about children being able to be who they are, not who we think they should be. To allow them to have time to learn at their own pace, not be pushed to get results. To acknowledge their individuality and their creativity. To provide opportunities that enable them to fly confidently in their own special way.

I have been so fortunate to have had many, many, special moments in my teaching career. I love seeing the sparkle in your children’s eyes as they walk through the door, their excitement, their curiosity, their successes, their honesty and their humour.

I have so many wonderful memories to take with me. Last Friday’s assembly is something I will never forget. To have my family there to watch, listen, laugh and cry with me as each syndicate said goodbye, is something I will always cherish. By the look on their faces I think they enjoyed it as much as we did.

Thank you to the BOT and Home and School for your support and tireless efforts to ensure the children and staff get the best support possible.
