On Friday 8 September Room 7 headed off to the Art Gallery to work with John Numegen (the Art Gallery's art teacher). Our focus was on Maori Korowai (cloaks). We had fun exploring a range of different art works at the Gallery and John told us stories related to the pictures and linked them with traditional Maori legends. Along the way we visited an installation where the children were able to play hide and seek, which was pretty special.

In the classroom John showed us how to create amazing Korowai using cardboard, crayons, pastels and shells/feathers. They look amazing and will be displayed at the Art Exhibition at school in Week 10.
