PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

Waiho i te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa. Let us keep close together, not far apart.

Kia ora koutou

The terrorist attack at the Masjid Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Masjid Mosque is an appalling tragedy for the families and friends of the 50 children, men and women killed on Friday. Our thoughts are with the people of Christchurch during this tragic time, and in particular with the children and families of the Muslim community.

As a result of the attacks, the NZEI Te Riu Roa National Executive has postponed ALL paid union meetings for primary teachers and principals due to begin nation-wide today. This is as a mark of respect for the 50 children, men and women murdered in Christchurch on Friday and to ensure schools and ECE services can focus on children and their needs.
