O'MATHALON

Lisa Agnew —

Last Thursday four groups (two year 5 groups and two year 6 groups) participated in the O'Mathlon Competition.

Our four O'Mathlon teams competed against 20 other groups from schools around Otago, working in teams of four to answer a range of challenging maths problems.

After working out the answer to a question the team's runner would take their questions and their team ID around a set course to the marker. The marker would check the answers; if correct the team could move on to the next question.

A special congratulations to our Year 5 East Taieri A team who placed 5th.

All four teams were excellent representatives for East Taieri School, and should all feel very proud of their efforts.

It was very challenging, but when we persevered (and got the question right), it was really fun.
