East Taieri Home & School Committee

Welcome to 2021!

The Home & School Committee consists of like-minded, volunteer parents, caregivers and teachers of East Taieri School with the main purpose being to help advance education within the school. The Committee is passionate about seeing the school thrive, and our children within it. Doing so is achieved in a number of ways:

· Facilitating interaction among the school community including social and informative activities

· Assisting in raising funds to provide improved facilities and opportunities for members of the school community

· Encouraging greater family involvement in a spirit of openness

· Fostering and encouraging parent education related to child welfare and development

Committee meetings are held monthly and generally last for about an hour or so. Community events and fundraising activities are penciled into the school calendar at an early stage in order to plan and prepare.

November 2021 sees the biennial School Fair take place. The Fair is a true community event and the School’s largest fundraising opportunity. There is plenty to organise so additional volunteers are sought and always welcome to help in particular areas.

The Committee also welcomes new members to become involved in the Committee itself. Meetings and activities are an enjoyable chance to develop new parent networks and gain insight into the running of the school – committee members each bring with them their own unique ideas, skills and input each of which are highly valued.
