SPORTS INFORMATION - WEEK 6

Jolene Casey —

Check out the latest draws, results, reports and a celebration of selections.

Futsal

There is NO game this week.  Half of our team are at camp and so we have defaulted this week.

Team report from last weeks game.

The team had another good win last week. Harry was very excited and proud of scoring his first goal, it was great to see his thrill and excitement. Charlotte J scored 2 goals and really enjoyed that. Noah and Ollie had turns as goalie and both did a great job and Madina and James both played well.  The whole team combines well in defence and attack and their enthusiasm really shows in the results they are getting.

Touch

Draw is up on the school website and on the sports notice board. The link to Otago Touch is also on the school sports website for all draws. Please remember to scan in on your way into Peter Johnstone Park.

NO SPECTATORS for Year 5/6 teams please.

TOUCH CANCELLED TODAY - Mon 22nd Nov.

Flippa Ball

The draw gets updated on the school sports website each week. Check it out there.

ET Dolphins 8 vs NEV Superheroes 2
The ET Dolphins had another big win on the weekend. They also showed good sportsmanship by playing for the opposing team who were 2 players short. Thanks to Carter and Lani.
Regan and Lachie played good games at goalie. Max, Vanessa and Jude played well on attack.
Player of the day: Vanessa

T-Ball

Any Tigers Tops that are not being used this year need to be returned to school ASAP please, thanks.

Swimming

Ruan Hamman has been selected into the Regional Athlete Development Squad (RADS) for swimming because his placings during the season scored enough points.

To be selected you have to score XLR8 points by racing throughout the season. "XLR8 is a motivational programme originally developed by Swimming New Zealand, where swimmers score points across a combination of events and are ranked nationally on their performances. Athletes must have obtained a minimum of 2000* XLR8 points during the season to be selected into the squad"
Congratulations to Ruan on his successful season so far, all the best for the rest of your swimming season.

Tennis

There is the Taieri Tennis Club which you can contact for further information if you wish to get your child involved in Tennis this season. See the link below for their Hot Shots Programme.
