Last Thursday afternoon 4 teams of very keen 'golfers' headed off to Taieri Lakes Golf Course to play in the Taieri Schools Golf Tournament.  We had one team of girls and 3 boys teams.  It was great to see so many keen to take part and use their golf skills, team work, sportsmanship and social skills along the way.  While some teams took the 'scenic' route around the course zig zagging their way up the fairway and others playing 'tennis' across the green, they all improved as they went.

Many thanks to our parent helpers on the day who showed immense patience as they 'guided' the teams around the course and tried to keep count of the numerous shots being played.

Hopefully this will be secured as an annual event and we can add to the number of golfers keen for next year.

Any children who are interested in getting involved with golf can contact Mrs Casey at school as there is a fantastic Dunedin Junior Golf Club that is very worthwhile being a part of.  It allows the children access to 7 different courses around Dunedin including Taieri Lakes, coaching sessions, tournaments and support for their golf.  It is very reasonably priced for a years membership.
