JARED HAYES

My name is Jared Hayes and I have two children at East Taieri School. Vanessa is in Year 5 and Zachary in Year 2. My wife Mel and I moved to Mosgiel 12 years ago and really enjoy being part of the local community. I was co-opted on to the Board earlier this year and really appreciate the opportunity to work with the school community to ensure that the children who attend East Taieri School continue to experience an outstanding learning environment.

I am the Operations Strategist at the University of Otago. Prior to this I have held roles overseeing a variety of IT, restructure and building projects. I am a great believer in giving back and I look forward to applying my skills, knowledge, and experience to serve East Taieri School as a member of the school board.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, watching the kids' sport, outdoor pursuits and undertaking the odd DIY project.

GARRETH JAY

Kia ora koutou - My name is Garreth Jay and I’m a 4th generation Mosgielian born and raised here. I attended Melville Park primary school back in the day and then went into town and attended John McGlashan College, and then six years at University of Otago. I worked a number of different jobs in Dunedin, in the building, hospitality, security and law enforcement sectors, then spent approximately three years living and working in York in Northern England as a Fisheries Scientist.

When I returned to Dunedin I worked for the Ministry of Fisheries (MFish) as a Fishery Officer and met my beautiful wife Ann Yang, who was also working for MFish at the time. One thing lead to another and we now have three awesome kids, Hannah (10), Jasmine (8) and Lachie (5) who all attend East Taieri School.

Sending our kids to East Taieri school was one the best decisions we have made, the kids have really blossomed at the school, we have thoroughly enjoyed our journey so far with the amazing, caring and dedicated teachers and staff. Joining the board of trustees I thought would be an exciting opportunity to give something back to the East Taieri School community.

I currently work for the Ministry for Primary Industries as the Regional Manager for the Fisheries Compliance team in the Lower South Region, so everything south of Timaru. I am also the National Coordinator for the Ministries Officer Safety Defensive Tactics programme, the National PSA Union delegate for Fisheries Compliance and sit on the Honorary Fishery Officer governance board.

My passions and interests include spending time with my family and friends, combat sports (Boxing/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), listening to Jocko Willink podcasts, weight training, reading, travel, doing what my wife tells me and our family are members of the East Taieri Presbyterian Church.

ELIZABETH CAMPBELL

I'm Liz Campbell and I have two daughters at East Taieri School in Year 2. In my spare time I enjoy playing and coaching netball and running.   I am Assistant Manager (Fitness and Facility), Recreation Services at the University of Otago.  I’m looking forward to being more involved with the school as I think that East Taieri School is a fantastic place for my daughters to learn and grow.

ANDREW HOLLANDS

I am Andrew Hollands and have had two children go through East Taieri School and Beau, my youngest child, is a current student.           In my professional capacity my wife, Sarah, and I own our own local business Hollands Excavation, operating in Dunedin and Mosgiel. We have owned Hollands Excavation for 20 years. This has enabled me to gain extensive knowledge, skills and experience of operating a business in the construction, residential and farming industries. It has also allowed me to build lasting relationships with many clients, suppliers and associates in the community.

I have enjoyed my last two terms on the Board, focusing on property development. My goal is to see the new carpark layout completed and I have taken on the challenge of creating a new bike track beside the carpark, which will be a great asset for the students and families of East Taieri.

HAYLEY RIVETT

I am Hayley Rivett, and I have two children at East Taieri School. Madison is in year 5, and Reggie is in year 3. My husband, Karl, and I have loved becoming part of the community through the school, after having moved from England prior to them starting their education.

I was voted onto the Board of Trustees in the last elections and in that time have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience regarding the funding, finances, policies, and procedures that go into keeping the school running smoothly.

I am a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience, and a background in Governance in the Financial Services industry.

I am looking forward to continuing to represent the parents for the next 3-year term.
