SPORTS NEWS - WEEK 9

Jolene Casey —

Check out all the latest results from finals, team reports and information for the end of year ... Don't forget to come along to our Summer Sports Prize giving on Wednesday too if your child is in a Summer Sports team.

No more Touch or Futsal this term - all done for Term 4.  Good Luck to our Flippa Ball Team in the Final this weekend.

Congratulations to all of our teams that played in Touch Finals last week.  All of our East Taieri children played with great sportsmanship, fairplay and looked like they were having plenty of fun too.  We had a great letter sent from a St Mary's coach to our ET White touch team that they "played with great sportsmanship, all were honest and played fair".  A great message to get. Well Done Jo Bridge (Coach) and ET White.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Yr 5 / 6 East Taieri Green Team who WON their final and took out the title for Section B.  A great season team - well done.

Futsal Team Reports :-

Futsal Final Round playoffs ET White Yr 5/6 5th in Yr 5/6 Div 4
Won 1-0 vs Green Island Tigers

Player of the Day Tarquin

What a wonderful team! Their positive supportive attitude to each other and their Fair Play towards every opposition team is outstanding. Tokoitu and Daniel displayed great flair and were always on the hunt for the back of the net. Theo and Asher were solid on both attack and defence and took their opportunity when they got the ball. Brady, Tarquin and Finn hustled in defence and were everywhere. A great season!

ET Navy Yr 3/4 1st equal in Yr 3/4 Div 6Adrew 8-8 vs Fairfield

Player of the Day Tom T

An epic game between 2 teams who were the clear top 2 teams with very similar points scored for and against. The game seesawed between both teams with some amazing skills shown. Our team did not give up and hustled and chased everything! From scoring to battling to get the ball by Jacob, Alex, Angus and James, amazing goal work to stop shots by Connor and Tom and defence by Madina, the team were amazing! A wonderful result which reflected the game! Well done!

Flippa Ball Team Reports: -

Semi finals A grade Year 3/4ET Seals won 8-4 vs Bermuda

Player of the Day THE WHOLE TEAM

In an action packed game with a very supportive, loud sideline, our little team came out with an amazing win and we could not have done it without every player in the pool and all our wonderful crew out of the pool! On attack Angus and Noa scored goals, Kaiah and Noah showed great skills to stop the shots, Chase, Jorja and Claudia went for the ball and stayed on their player, and Milly and Connor created lots of disruption to their attacking play.Next week we are in the Final, which is an amazing achievement! Well done team!! Lets get ready to rumble :)

ET SHARKS

Seems this was a very busy weekend with several players having other commitments, and combined with some last minute illness meant that unfortunately ET Sharks couldn't field a full team against the Fairfield Sea Horses. It was still a competitive match, with both teams having similar shots on goal, but it was Fairfield that came out ahead in the end. A special thanks to Kaiah Hiko and Arielle Dar for helping us out this week.

Player of the Day: Jack Cameron for good work in goal and some excellent long range passing.

T-Ball Team Reports:-

No reports this week sorry.

Weet-Bix TRYathlon

Don't forget to get your entry in for the Weet-Bix TRY for 2020.

Thank you to all of our amazing parent coaches / managers / supporters who turn up every week to help the children in their teams.  They give up their own time to support our sports teams and without them, we could not offer as many options as we do for our children, so a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our coaches / helpers.
