The World Premiere of WILDLIFE RESCUE NEW ZEALAND - Sunday 10 November, 6.30pm, Regent Theatre

The World Premiere of WILDLIFE RESCUE NEW ZEALAND

This exclusive screening has gone on sale this morning.

The Dunedin public have embraced the Wildlife Hospital since it opened its doors in January of 2018. In this short time, the Hospital has become the busiest wildlife veterinary facility in New Zealand, treating around 500 animals per year across more than 50 different native species, and is now the setting for an exciting new documentary television series, Wildlife Rescue New Zealand.

Natural History New Zealand (NHNZ), spent last summer filming behind the scenes at the Hospital and out in the field, in some cases capturing the moment sick or injured animals are discovered, to their arrival at the Hospital, right through to their rehabilitation and ultimate release back into the wild. The show delves into the dedication and professionalism of the Wildlife Hospital team and the incredible network of conservation and community groups that help Dunedin and the South Island's native wildlife thrive.

NHNZ's incredible cinematography highlights the stunning local environments in which many of our species live, while addressing the multiple pressures and threats that are faced by many of the region's threatened species. The show gives the public a rare opportunity to enter the Hospital, get to know some rare and special species, and experience some of the natural environments where so many of our iconic species reside.

The five part documentary series will launch on national television on Choice TV November 17th but we are giving the Dunedin public the exclusive chance to preview Episode 1, along with snippets from subsequent episodes, at the World Premiere of Wildlife Rescue New Zealand on Sunday, November 10th at Dunedin's very own Regent Theatre. There will also be an opportunity to hear briefly from The Wildlife Hospital Trust, the NHNZ team and to meet some of the stars from the show.
