STARS ON STAGE 2019 By Renee, Chelsea and Tayla

I curiously hop out of the dark grey car and trudge down the busy streets of Dunedin. I glare out into the pitch black gloomy sky as schools tramble past me in excitement and chatter. Suddenly I get more nervous by the second! Once I had arrived at our meeting place I greeted all my sparky eager friends. Everyone was dressed in Ed Sheeran, Men in Black, P!nk, Robbie Williams, Six Sixty and Shania Twain costumes. We all walk down the wide alleyway in laughter and joy, excited to perform in the Regent Thatre.

Now we start slowly approaching the huge brown doors at the very back of the Dunedin Regent Theatre.  We hurry into the warm theatre and take our seats. I can feel my nerves kicking in and I can hear my heart beating 1 million beats per second. Suddenly the curtains rise. A loud & long applause starts echoing around the building, then silence all around. Now we are waiting in complete silence for the host (P from the hits) to start speaking-”Good evening Dunedin and welcome to Stars on stage 2019” A huge applause runs through the audience again. “Now please welcome to the stage RASA dance studio” We sit back and relax as we watch 3 different schools perform their dances to us. Then we get called up to start heading back stage. We all start talking in excitement as we head back out side.

Stars on Stage Pt 2

Back stage in the stuffy HOT room we all try to keep our jittery nerves down ( trust me its hard) we have our last minute touch ups as in pink hair spray, head scarfs e.t.c. The teachers are preparing us and making sure we're smiling :) and looking up. Now the show has started! Rosie’s now finished her little speech and the loud crowd music has started. I start hesitating and jumping round on the spot to burn out some energy. I take a long deep breath to calm myself down. It's nearly the end of the Robbie Willams dance. I get myself quickly in character then start skipping on stage smiling of course. I turn myself around and see the huge audience all clapping & singing (Pretty Little Galway Girl). As soon as I know it my dance is over and Im already back stage and lining up for the last dance. It was my time'. I took my place in the curtain wing and anxiously wait for LET'S GO GIRLS to start. I start galloping on stage and perform my moves to Shania Twain as I have been told to. And just like that, it's over! And I'm going into place for the last dance! The music for the last dance starts. I count 5,6,7,8 in my head then skip onto the stage with a huge grin on my face. I dance my heart out then 3,2,1, pose and its all over. Standing there the crowd roars with exitement and loud wahoos. Stars on Stage was over for another 2 years
