OTAGO PRIMARY SCHOOLS SWIMMING CHAMPS AND SOUTH ISLAND MAKO SWIMMING CHAMPS

Rachel Phillips —

On Saturday we had a team of swimmers at Moana Pool for the Otago primary school swimming champs. The team had a really successful day with some very impressive results. All swimmers showed amazing resilience and swam to the best of their abilities. Congratulations to all, thank you for representing East Taieri so well.

A special thank you to Kirsten B for managing the team for us. You were so organised and ensured everything ran smoothly. We really appreciate your help and support!

South Island Mako Swimming champs

Two weeks ago Jack McG and Emme B competed at the Mako South Island. Both swimming many personal bests and showing that their hard work, training in the pool is paying off.

Jack McG results:

50 Breastroke – 53.24 seconds – dropping 3 seconds

50 Backstroke – 42.20 seconds – dropping over 3 seconds (placing him 6th in the South Island for his age)

50 Freestyle – 37.41 seconds – dropping 3 seconds

100 Freestyle – 1.23.84 seconds – dropping 7 seconds (placing 8th , down from seed 14th )

100 Breaststroke – 1.51.76 – dropping 14 seconds (placing him 8th , down from seed 16th )

Emme B took 8 seconds off her freestyle time and 7 seconds off her breaststroke time. Such a huge effort!
