PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
MOVING TO LEVEL ONE
Kia ora koutou
I am sure that you were as pleased as we were about moving to Alert Level 1. For us, there will be no major changes to what we are doing and our school continues to be safe to attend, including any staff and children who are considered more vulnerable to COVID. We have a good cleaning routine in place, people who are sick are staying at home and we continue to encourage good hygiene practices.
We are supporting contact tracing by having QR code posters at our entrances and in the office – so if you haven’t already downloaded the NZ COVID Tracer app the Ministry of Health’s NZ-COVID Tracer app page has information to help you do that.
What is changing is that we can now look forward to school, inter-school and community sport, cultural events and performances. Once events are confirmed we will update our calendar.
Thank you to those who responded to the survey put out to parents in Rooms 9,10 and 13 regarding pick up times. The early pick up time will rermain an option for those parents who prefer it. Moving forward, if parents are meeting their children after school could they please wait on the court area to avoid the Junior Lane congestion.
Buses will be leaving at 2.45pm.
Thank you again for your cooperation and understanding.
Mid Year Interviews:
Mid year interviews will take place next week on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th of June. These catch ups will be different from our usual mid-year interviews and 3-way conferences. As we are not carrying out our formal mid-year assessments these interviews will not be assessment based, rather a general catch up and sharing of information about your child's year so far, how distance learning went and how his or her transition back to school after lockdown has gone. The focus will be on well-being and looking ahead to Terms 3 and 4. These will be 10 minute sessions.
A brief written report to be used as the basis for interviews will be sent home this Friday 19th June. Could parents please fill out the Parent section and bring the report with them to interviews.
Please note: We are not having 3-way conferences for Years 4-6 this year.
