YEAR 6 TIROHANGA DAY
Camp Tirohanga Year 6 Leadership Day
On Monday 28 February the Year Sixes went to Camp Tirohanga. Once we got there we were split into four groups. I was in Group 4.
My group started with Miss B at the Dayline in the forest. we were told to buddy up and my buddy was Isha, she was blindfolded first. I had to guide her through trees, over logs and up/down hill. Then it was my turn to be blind folded, I made it out of there without a scratch.
After morning tea group 4 went to the confidence course with Miss Clague. We went over the basic rules and the got started. Some of the tricky bits were the diagonal rubber rope, the two rubber ropes that move when you move, the wobbly wooden plank and the tyres, which seemed to have a mind of their own. The big and small tight ropes and the fireman's pole were easy.
Next with Mr T we had to get over high walls, then get everyone on tiny boards. We ended this activity with a good old fashioned game of tug of war. My hands were red raw after that!
After lunch we ended the day with Miss Agnew at trust games. We had to fall into our buddies arms and then we had to catch our buddy. Next we had a mat race and finished with a good game of GaGa.
It was an awesome day!
