MATARIKI NIGHT

Natalie King-Begg —

On Wednesday night a number of brave adults and children put on their winter woolies and made their way on to the court to celebrate the end of Matariki.

Whanau were entertained by the Junior children singing, and the Middle and Senior Kapa Haka groups performing. The Home and School were extremely busy and had prepared tasty, warm soup to have with fresh bread rolls, kindly donated by The Cottage Bakehouse.

Everyone had a lovely time coming together to share their Matariki experiences and some kai together. We will look forward to this becoming a regular feature on the East Taieri School calendar.

A huge thank you to the Home and School for organising, preparing and delivering the food, the Cottage Bakehouse for their donations of the fresh breadrolls, the staff for helping with the performances and an extra special thank you to Mrs Horgan who was so brave on the night.

Thank you also, for the koha people kindly donated to help Kapa Haka get to polyfest this year and thank you to our families who came to support the children. It was a great night!
