Kia ora Koutou

I hope that everyone enjoyed Waitangi Weekend and coped with the high temperatures. We are so fortunate to have such amazing grounds at East Taieri with our large trees providing shady areas for children to sit and play in at lunchtime.

We had a challenging start to swimming this morning with the frst bus not arriving at the scheduled time. Swimming times had to be altered for the day, but we will be back to the original timetable tomorrow.

ROAD WORKS

We are working closely with Downer regarding traffic management during the planned road works which will impact the school and surrounding area. We will keep you updated as we receive information from Downer.

MEET THE TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Our 'Meet the Teacher' 5 minute interviews are to be held on Wednesday 22 February - see article later in newsletter for information on booking.

THANKS TO HOME AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE

A big thank you to the Home and School committee for donating $10,000 towards our bike track which is to be started this term. The committee has also donated $5,800 towards extra bars to be installed on our adventure playground. Teachers are very grateful for the $250 given to each teacher for purchasing classroom resources. Parents will also be very grateful, as the committee has contributed $4,500 towards the cost of buses for swimmimg which will reduce swimming costs considerably for parents. We anticipate swimming transport to be over $8,000. Swimming costs will be added to Term One accounts.  We are really looking forward to being able to use the new Mosgiel Pool facility next year!
