Jennifer Horgan —

THE OLD FISHERMAN -  By Madison Shaw

His one good eye stared into the sea. His fishing days were over. His beard was worn out and looked like a bunch of fishing hooks. Beneath his good eye the skin sagged like a hammock. A tear ran down his face as he remembered the unforgiving sea, the one that snatched his family away from him. Underneath his eye-patch was nothing except for the hole where his eye had once sat. He was not the man he once was.

THE SHIMMERING BUBBLE - By Mrithika Suresh-Kumar

"Woosh" into the sea she goes with her huge bubble to guard her and let her breathe. Colourful fish swam over, under and around her, making her shimmering bubble move. Her short, strawberry blond hair waving in her pigtails as her thick brown eyebrows rise up with surprise and curiosity. She changes her lips to a grin, with her delicate pink cheeks showing all her freckles.
